It’s fine if it’s once in a while but spending too much time in the toilet everyday is a cause for concern. If your boyfriend or husband is also doing the same thing and getting late to work because of poop timings, fret not! Let’s decode the actual reason behind this mystery.

1. Gastrointestinal problems

Is he a poor pooper or does he have gastrointestinal problems? That’s something to think about.

According to research, people dealing with neurological diseases or gastrointestinal conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, gastroparesis, and intestinal bacterial growth often have a hard time pooping.

He could also be dealing with prostate problems and you just aren’t aware of it yet. These could be some of the prominent reasons why so many guys take so long in the bathroom.

Imagine you are a mother of two children who won’t stop fighting for cupcakes and you are the only parent present as a basket of dirty laundry sits on the sofa staring at you.  Where’s your husband amidst all this? He is in the bathroom scrolling Instagram.

Believe it or not, that’s true and we come armed with proof. A psychological statistics report has found that 33% of men admitted to hiding out in their bathroom to get some “peace and quiet.”  So, the next time you are wondering, “Why does my boyfriend keep going to the bathroom?”, it’s to escape chores and responsibilities.

Would men be okay if women also locked themselves in the bathroom without worrying about the kids or other things? Nope. Not really. Your husband would be banging on the door asking for her help.

3. To swipe right

Why would he want to spend so much time in the bathroom when it smells so bad? The thing is, your husband locks the bathroom door and stays there for an enormous amount of time because he is doing some sly things behind your back.

There’s no way your husband takes 30 minutes to poop and he does just that. His way to destress after a hectic day is by looking at hot girls and perhaps swipe right on them.

This could or could not be true. A deeper investigation awaits due to his frequent bathroom visits. But for now, he is doing something suspicious behind closed doors.

4. He is catching up on some reading

Your husband spends the better half of the morning in the bathroom while you cook breakfast for the family. It’s ridiculous, isn’t it? But he has turned the lavatory into his personal little haven where he can get some reading done.

From sports magazines to the occasional novel that mysteriously appears next to the toilet, he is engulfed in a world of his own without a care for what’s happening outside the bathroom. He is enjoying his “me time” by escaping into the world of literature.

In fact, statistics have found that 86% of men regularly read on the toilet, whereas only 27% of women like to read in the bathroom.

5. He is grooming himself

Your husband is going through a transformation inside the bathroom. He is grooming himself. Perhaps shaving every hair on his body? Yeah, even gross nose hair.

Or maybe he is lathering himself with lotions and creams. Well.. it’s good that your husband practices self-care techniques but he can reduce the frequency of this.

Let’s not kid ourselves but women do this too. They take longer than ever to get ready but that’s a rare occasion. It’s not everyday where you see a woman locking herself in the bathroom for thirty minutes straight.

However, a man who wants to look perfect every single day will spend an enormous amount of time setting his hair and beard.
